4.30.11 & 5.1.11: I'll be at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books at 3:30 PM on Saturday, reading poems from "Crossing State Lines: An American Renga," a coast-to-coast multi-player poem dreamed up by CA poet laureate Carol Muske-Dukes and Bowery Poetry Club founder Bob Holman. Sunday at 12:30 PM I'll be empanelled with Matthew Zapruder and Nick Flynn and moderator David St. John, which will be great fun.

4.12.10: Funny thing at Skylight Books: I'm reading with Joyce Maynard, at an event hosted by Canteen (a wonderful San Francisco-based literary magazine), and then competing with audience members in a short, spontaneous fiction-writing contest. How terrifying. But come anyway—it's Canteen's first L.A. event and they want to meet you. Skylight Books is at 1818 North Vermont Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90027. The reading starts at 7:30 PM.
4.10.10: I'll be on a panel at AWP in Denver with a great group of writers (Dinah Lenney, Amy Gerstler, Billy Giraldi, and Sven Birkerts), some of whom are my colleagues in the MPW program at USC. The topic: Criticism for Its Own Sake. 10:30 AM, somewhere deep inside the convention hall.

4.4.09: I'm reading with August Kleinzahler and Amy Gerstler at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, in conjunction with the exhibit "Art of Two Germanys/Cold War Cultures." The program is called "Late Night Art: Berlin 1945-2009"; there will be art, video, music, poems, and a DJ from Berlin. The whole thing starts at 8:00 pm.
